Souvik Biswas
Nature, memory, and quiet human experience define Souvik Biswas’s painting practice. Working across acrylic and watercolour, his compositions explore the intersection of natural forms and emotional states, often translating everyday observations into reflective visual narratives. Trained at the Rabindra Bharati University and the Indian College of Arts and Draftsmanship, Biswas builds his works through a balance of realism and conceptual intent. His series-based approach anchors his practice, with bodies of work such as Abandoned and Faded exploring themes of neglect, resilience, and transformation through recurring motifs drawn from nature. His work often reflects a sensitivity to overlooked moments and spaces, where stillness carries emotional weight. Through restrained compositions and careful detailing, Biswas invites viewers to engage with ideas of presence, absence, and the possibility of renewal within everyday life.

“I am drawn to the unnoticed - spaces, people, and moments that are often overlooked. Through my work, I try to find meaning in these silences and explore how something can still grow, even in absence.”
