Vanita Gupta
Layered colour, texture, and quiet emotional resonance define Vanita Gupta’s contemporary painting practice. Working primarily with acrylic and mixed media, her compositions balance abstraction with subtle structure, creating atmospheric spaces that evoke memory, introspection, and the poetry of everyday life. Gupta’s process is intuitive and meditative, allowing surfaces to develop through layered gestures, tonal shifts, and delicate mark-making. Her works often suggest landscapes of emotion rather than literal places, inviting viewers to slow down and enter contemplative visual environments. Trained at the L.S. Raheja School of Art in Mumbai, Gupta has developed a sustained practice that engages with abstraction through sensitivity to colour, surface, and spatial depth. Her paintings have been exhibited widely in India and internationally and are held in significant public and private collections.

“Painting for me is a process of layering memory, sensation, and emotion—allowing the work to evolve slowly until it finds its own quiet balance.”
