Milind Bhurke
Rhythmic abstractions inspired by the movement of nature define Milind Bhurke’s paintings. Working primarily with acrylic on canvas and paper, he explores the energy and patterns found in natural phenomena rustling leaves, flowing water, drifting clouds, and flocks of birds in motion. Based in Mumbai, Bhurke draws from close observation of the natural world, translating its subtle rhythms and shifting forms into layered abstract compositions. His work often reflects the dynamic interplay between stillness and movement, capturing fleeting moments that resemble visual music unfolding across the canvas. Alongside his studio practice, Bhurke has also contributed to projects documenting the changing urban landscape of Mumbai, including works exploring the city’s textile mill heritage. His paintings invite viewers to experience the hidden rhythms and energies that connect nature, memory, and emotion.

“Just as a child follows a butterfly in wonder, I find myself drawn to the movements of nature. The rustling leaves, swaying grass, and flying birds create rhythms that feel like paintings drawn by nature itself.”
