Tridib Bera

Industrial materials, structural clarity, and refined form define Tridib Bera’s sculptural practice. Working primarily with steel rods and electroplated finishes, his works explore the construction of form through line, balance, and spatial openness. Born in West Bengal and trained at Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University, Bera’s early engagement with materials such as iron and found metal has evolved into a more controlled and minimal visual language. His sculptures are built through the precise joining of linear elements, creating open, three-dimensional structures that suggest presence without mass. Now based in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, his work reflects a shift toward restraint and stability, where simplified forms and industrial finishes create a quiet, deliberate aesthetic. While rooted in observation and structure, the sculptures retain a sense of incompleteness, allowing space for interpretation and viewer engagement.

“My work is simple in its appearance, but it comes from understanding how forms are constructed. I focus on what is essential, leaving space for the viewer to complete what is not shown.”
