Sandeep Bobade
Muted greys, layered textures, and fragmented surfaces define Sandeep Bobade’s abstract paintings. Working across acrylic, charcoal, and mixed media, his practice explores the relationship between urban space, memory, and lived experience. Based in Mumbai, Bobade draws deeply from the visual environment of Dharavi, where dense urban structures, narrow lanes, metal sheets, and weathered walls shape the visual language of his work. Through subtle colour palettes and layered compositions, his paintings translate everyday urban rhythms into abstract visual narratives that reflect both the complexity and quiet humanity of the city. Bobade studied drawing and painting at the L.S. Raheja School of Art in Mumbai and has participated in numerous exhibitions across the city. His work continues to evolve as an exploration of place, identity, and the emotional landscapes embedded within urban life.

“For me, painting is not only a visual expression but a way of exploring place, memory, and identity. Through abstraction I try to reflect the simplicity and complexity that exist within the life of Dharavi.”
