Ankita Dutta

Intricate line work and symbolic detail define Ankita Dutta’s artistic practice. Working primarily with pen, ink, and mixed media, she creates contemplative compositions that explore the relationships and connections that quietly shape our world. Based in Kolkata, Dutta’s work reflects a fusion of scientific observation and artistic storytelling. A graduate in Zoology (Hons) and formally trained at the Indian Society of Oriental Art College, her practice examines the subtle bonds that exist between individuals, nature, and everyday objects. Forms such as trees, vessels, and human figures appear throughout her work, serving as metaphors for interconnectedness and shared existence. Through layered mark-making and delicate visual narratives, Dutta invites viewers to reflect on the invisible threads that link people, environments, and objects. Her work has been exhibited across several prominent art spaces in Kolkata and is held in private collections.
