Paltu Ghosh

Vibrant colour, layered surfaces, and dreamlike natural settings define Paltu Ghosh’s painting practice. Working primarily with acrylic, his compositions merge human figures with elements of nature, creating immersive environments that feel both intimate and otherworldly. Trained at the Rabindra Bharati University, Ghosh draws from folk traditions and personal observation to build richly textured surfaces through repeated layering of colour. His works often centre on themes of nature and femininity, viewing both as generative forces. Ponds, wildlife, and maternal forms recur throughout his compositions, reflecting a deep sensitivity to cycles of creation and nurture. Through luminous palettes and intricate detailing, his paintings evoke a sense of harmony and quiet abundance. Balancing figuration with imagination, Ghosh creates spaces that feel both grounded in lived experience and heightened by a sense of reverie.

“I see both nature and women as creators— sources of life and continuity. Through my work, I try to bring together these forms in spaces that feel alive, nurturing, and interconnected.”
