Satyajeet Pandere

Gestural forms and dense impasto surfaces define Satyajeet Pandere’s abstract figurative paintings. Working primarily with oil on canvas, he explores themes of the human condition, emotion, and the subtle interplay between physical form and psychological presence. Based in Mumbai, Pandere’s practice is guided by intuition and subconscious exploration, allowing figures and compositions to emerge organically through the process of painting. His works often depict human and female forms that appear partially dissolved within textured layers of paint, focusing on gesture, movement, and emotional resonance rather than defined physical representation. Pandere studied Fine Arts at the L.S. Raheja School of Art and later completed his Master of Fine Arts at the Sir J.J. School of Art in Mumbai. His work continues to evolve through an exploration of abstraction, materiality, and the shifting relationship between body, space, and perception.

“My paintings emerge from the subconscious rather than deliberate intention. Through the process of painting, forms reveal themselves and gradually transform into expressions of emotion and experience.”
