Playful imagery and luminous colour define Shiv Kumar Soni’s contemporary paintings. Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, he recreates moments of childhood through scenes filled with kites, balloons, toys, and whimsical characters. Born in Bidasar in Rajasthan and now based in Jaipur, Soni draws deeply from memories of growing up in a small town. His distinctive technique uses acrylic paint applied with the fluid softness of watercolour, creating compositions that feel light, nostalgic, and emotionally warm. Through everyday objects and playful figures, his paintings celebrate the innocence, joy, and imagination that shape early life. Soni studied painting at the Rajasthan School of Art in Jaipur. His work continues to explore memory and nostalgia, inviting viewers to reconnect with the simple pleasures and emotional landscapes of childhood.
