Darkness becomes a field for movement, gesture, and discovery. Lines and marks emerge through an improvisational process, creating moments of tension, rhythm, and release. Against the depth of black, colour and gesture take on a heightened presence, inviting an open-ended reading of the work.
The works are deliberately open to interpretation. Their alphanumeric titles are generated through chance, reflecting the improvised and unpredictable nature of Susmit Biswas’s process.

Why 50?
50 was born from a simple gap we kept noticing: extraordinary Indian artists exist everywhere, yet much of their work never reaches the audiences who would truly value it.
Traditional galleries can often feel exclusive, while online marketplaces tend to reduce art to décor. We wanted to create something more thoughtful—a curated and welcoming space where discovering and collecting original art feels natural, personal, and transparent.
At the heart of 50 is a belief that thoughtful curation and a considered approach to pricing can exist alongside one another—creating a more open and connected way to experience contemporary art.
